Mars

Rust coloured Mars was named after the Roman god of war. The fourth planet from the sun. Mars has a diameter that is roughly half that of Earths itfs day is half an hour longer than an Earth day.

This picture of Mars was taken during its close approach last year. Now Mars is about a quarter of the size shown in this Image. This picture was taken at the Distant Suns Observatory, Inasa-cho, Shibukawa.

Method ? The ToUcam Video camera was connected to the Telescope prime focus.

The video was captured and then loaded into Registax for Video frame stacking and noise reduction. Final sharpening and colour balance was completed in ImagesPlus.
