Sun

The Sun is our nearest star and the central figure in our solar system with a mass 330,000 times that of Earth. The Sun is composed of 3/4 hydrogen, 1/4 helium, and mere traces of other elements. In this picture several sunspots are visible on the suns surface.

This picture of the Sun was taken on a summerfs morning at the Distant Suns Observatory. It is often best to take images of the sun before the earth heats up too much and makes it hard to get a clear photo due to the hot air rising from the ground.
